bask - THE MAGIC OF THE RECORDING PROCESS
In early 2012, Peter Breiner traveled 9,100 miles from his Manhattan home to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, to conduct recordings sessions of two albums for the Naxos label.
For 4 days, 105 members of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra played Breiner's arrangements of works by Mussorgsky and Tchaikovsky.
The program that was released on 2 Naxos CDs, consists of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and his two song cycles and two Tchaikovsky's operatic suites - The Queen of Spades and The Voeyvoda.
